Connie Kaldor
Connie Kaldor is one of Canada’s finest songwriters. She has toured around the world, won three Junos and is a member of the Order of Canada as well as winning a Western Literature award. She has done it all as an independent; writing, singing, performing, building her following one song, one show at a time.
Connie is celebrating 45 years in show business this year with her upcoming 18th recording, titled Keep Going! She began her career in folk music as part of the Canadian wave alongside artists like Stan Rogers and Valdy. Armed with her enormous stage presence, her unforgettable melodies, and her emotional depth as a songwriter, Connie became a headline act on the festival circuit.
Her extensive touring has earned her a loyal fan-base that extends far beyond the traditional boundaries of folk and the Boston Globe has described her as, “a masterful performer, wildly funny one moment, deeply personal the next.” A three-time Juno Award winner, Connie is a member of the Order of Canada, a Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal recipient, holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Regina, and is the first songwriter to receive a Western Literature Association Award of Merit.

One of Canada’s greatest songwriters, Juno award winning Lynn Miles will perform a Solstice concert with multi-award winning guitarist Keith Glass and the celebrated singer Rebecca Campbell.

One of Canada’s great songwriters, Lynn Miles is Juno award winning and internationally acclaimed. Lynn will be accompanied by multiple Juno award winning and multi-instrumentalist Keith Glass of Prairie Oyster fame and together they craft exquisitive songs from Lynn’s impressive canon of 16 albums.

KEITH GLASS BAND
Award-winning singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and founding member of Prairie Oyster - often cited as the country’s foremost roots/country band - Keith has earned much critical acclaim, including multiple Juno and CCMA awards, and toured extensively in Canada, the U.S. and Europe over a career that has spanned almost four decades. In 2008, he was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame for his work with Prairie Oyster, and is a recipient of a SOCAN Songwriter’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Big Branches Balfolk Gathering
Balfolk is popular social dancing music from Western Europe — reviving traditional, mostly French, folk dances. International and local bands will converge at Leopard Frog with music, song and dance workshops, jamming, dancing late into the night. Camping and meals and as many hurdy gurdies as you can imagine!
